England batting
Good toss to win if you pick 4 spinners (incl Root) & 1 fast bowler
8 overs of pace out of 35 on the first day of a Test match!

I watch Hartley bowl and I still think I have a chance of playing for England.

I'm 56.

Him and his sister clearly have some dirt on someone high up in the ECB because both of them are stealing a living.

We might as well have played Livingstone or Jacks and they could have bowled their part time filth.

Ben Duckett reckoned he was PLEASED that England were bowled out for 246
India lead now over 100 so getting into dangerous territory

West Indies lead also over 100 at the moment with Australia 7 down. Steve Smith as an opener might be a very short lived experiment

They're not related - he's the son of former Olympic athlete Bill Hartley - she's just an irritating cow who makes me think the TMS booth has been invaded by Jimmy Clitheroe.

Well done, Ollie Pope!

Absolute gem of an innings from Pope, one of the very best I have seen from one of ours in India. Pietersen's 180 odd in Mumbai right up there too.

Gem of an innings.

But for Foakes’ drop of KLR - England would have won this Test.

Every chance they could still lose this test but at least they have made a proper game of it which if nothing else will I'll give them confidence moving forward.

Fair play to Hartley, batted well and bowling much better.

The problem we have now is Rehan, utter dross.

I thought Chanderpaul had retired, so I looked it up and it's his son, FMOB well played, Shivnarine.

Well batted England but will it be enough, I fear not?
